“What Happens In Vegas…”
Where’s Michael? Well it’s Monday. He must be in Vegas!
Sometimes these mid-air ramblings seem scrambled but in reality that is sort of where my head is right now as I fly home from my 20 hours in Las Vegas.
Last week I was hired to coordinate a luscious luxury wedding for Torrie and Scott who are being married there in 30 days! Yikes! There are 103 people coming! Yikes again!
I have dressed Torrie for both rehearsal dinner and ceremony in two drop dead Stephen Yearick beaded gowns but what with new house and vacations this summer, the planning has become a little overwhelming.
I called Wynn resort wedding staff and asked for a meeting with all the heads of the various departments at one time and two days later was on a plane. The vendor meeting/summit conference lasted four hours but we have all the details locked down for ceremony, photography, flowers, lighting, menu, music, floor plan, china, chairs, linens, hair, make-up, time line.
We decided to use the desert colors of red rock, cactus green and cornflower blue, all with touches of shimmering gold. The girls will be in black evening gowns and carry bouquets of those colors. The guys are all in custom made black silk linen European cut suits.
I will return on September 5 to see that the vision comes off as we have planned it but I have complete confidence that the Wynn will continue to knock my socks off with their high standards.
Though not there long enough to gamble, see a show or lounge by the pool, I did enjoy great dinner, great bourbon (thank you Mr. Wynn!) and my total guilty pleasure; breakfast in bed watching the sunrise over the mountains.
Take a peek at how beautiful this resort can be for your destination wedding. I’ll be sure and send you some pictures of the finished effect. It is going to be some wedding! I don’t want to keep this secret in Vegas!
